D. W. Gustin
Statement of Ohio Liquor Director Brings Investigation From This Committee

Article taken from The Newark Advocate, April 17, 1934

D.W. Gustin of Portsmouth, former Scioto county prosecutor, went right to work at his task as attorney for the Ohio senate special liquor investigatin committee as soon as he was appointed. He conferred with Chairman Carl. D. Sheppard, Republican of Summit county (right), and Senator Paul R. Gingher, Republican of Franklin county (left), relative to information the week-old committee has gathered. The commitee's appointment of Gustin was its answer to a speech by Colonel John A. Hughes, state liquor director, saying he had a long list of legislators who had asked special favors of his department. The committee said it would call Hughes to present his list "at the proper time," but neglected to indicate when that might be.
