Hamiliton, March 18--(AP)--Walter Carver, 28, Portsmouth, held under $10,000 bond for grand jury investigation, told the court here he was compelled by a band of men to take part in the robbery of a grocery store last December. He said he became friendly with others mentioned the theft because they said they would take him to Indianapolis to get work. Police said Carver was described as "had been working but desperate." One man, named in the same theft, is in jail here, two others received ten year sentences in the penitentiary from Portsmouth on another charge and a fifth has not been apprehended.
