Youth Seriously Shot Near Scene of Thefts

Portsmouth, June 10-(AP)-A youth who gave
his name as Alfred Angel, 16, Detroit, was in a serious condition in a
hospital here suffering from wounds received when policemen patrolling
a residential district, recent scene of numerous robberies, fired at two
scurrying figures when they refused to halt.
Angel was shot in his back. His companion got away.
