Doctors Set $1 a Mile Fee on Country Calls

Portsmouth, O (AP) - Doctors charge patients living in the country a dollar a mile for calls. Physicians and surgeons of Portsmouth and Scioto County posted their new, higher price list list Thursday. The said they would charge $3 for office visits and $2 for telephone advice and prescriptions. City house and hospital visits will cost from $5 to $10 depending on the hour. From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., the patients will pay $5, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., $8, and from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., $10. A 30 minute sonsultation will cost $10 under the new schedule.
