Tough Are the Citizens of Scioto County, Judging by the Indictments Found

Portsmouth, O., April 11 -

The astonishing record of fourteen indictments out of twenty-four being for sustaining an illegal relation, is made by Scioto County.  The authorities made a raid on a community in the Scioto hills devoted to free love.  Peter Cooper, Mary Sly, James Belton, Sarah Woodward, Joseph Manley and Elizabeth Holt have pleaded guilty.

William Ingles has given bond and Sarah Mercer, Bert Pertuset and Josephine Rockwell are in jail for trial.  Officers are after four more.
