Portsmouth, O., Nov 3.

The largest pike ever captured in this vicinity with hook and line was landed on Tygart creek by Robert Morris of Ludlow, Ky., who, with a party of friend, have been camping for two weekes near Bennett's mills.

The fish was 44 inches long and weighted 23 pounds. Larger pike have been caught, but not with a hook and line. The local sportsmen claim it is a phenomenal catch, as the pike is the gamest and most voracious fish in this vicinity, a 10-pounder giving the ablest fisherman all the sport he wants.
