Consternation in a Railroad Camp, The Victims - Portsmouth, O., March 9 -
A severe bolt of lightning struck Detroit Southern railroad camp during the wind and electrical storm just as the night crew of 100 employees were resuming their work. William Johnson of Carlisle, Ky, was instantly killed; William Banks had his right had torn off; John Weeks was probably fatally burned, and most all of the men were more or less bruised. The electrical storm was the worst seen here in many years. Much stock throughout the country was killed.
