Cashier Assaulted

Portsmouth, O. Jan. 17.-- Miss Lydia Williams, cashier at Gilson's music store, is lying in a dying condition as the result of an assault by an unknown colored man. Miss Williams was closing the store when the negro entered. He assaulted her twice with a bludgeon, rendering her unconscious.
