Lightning Hits Man

Samuel F. Bridwell, 69, father of Shortstop Al Bridwell of the New York Giants, was struck by lightning while standing on the front veranda of his home here, watching a severe rainstorm. He was rendered unconscious for several hours and is still in a serious condition.
