Murder Follows Quarrel

John Evans, a shanty boatman, was shot and instantly killed here by Henry Robbins, after the two had quarreled over the actions of Evans' son, John Evans Jr. Robbins went to the boat house to relate a Halloween prank of his son. An argument ensued and the pair came to blows. Robbins left to visit the sheriff and a secure a warrant for the boatman's arrest. The warrant being refused him, Robbins secured a shotgun and returned to the boathouse. Calling Evans to the door, instantly killing him.
