William Shackart Injured in Fight

PORSMOUTH, O Sept. 11. -- A harvest picnic given by Xavier Lordier, on Pond creek, was broken up by a bloody fight, in which William Shackart had his throat cut and several others were badly wounded.

 


Benjamin Adams Charged with Murder

PORTSMOUTH, O., Oct. 4.--Benjaman Adams, charged with killing William Shackart at the Gardier picnic Sept. 10, has been found guilty of murder in the second degree. The jury was out only 20 minutes. Frank Jones, his accomplice, is yet to be tried.
