Land Named President By Ohio Broadcasters

Allan H. Land of Zanesville Friday was elected as president of the Ohio Association of Broadcasters for next year. Land was named at a meeting of the association in Columbus.

Land formerly first vice president of the group, is executive vice president of TR inc. whose operations include WHIZ Radio and Television here.

He lives at 2633 Circle Drive. Paul Braden of Middletown was named the association's "Man of the Year."

Braden, a Dayton native operates WPFB, Middletown; WPAY, Portsmouth, and WSMJ, Greenfield, Ind. He was honored for his dedications to the broadcast industry in Ohio for past 32 years.

The broadcasters' also presented special awards to Gov. James Rhodes for his support of the broadcast industry and Ted Lewis, "The Master Showman" for his continued contributions to the broadcast world.

The awards capped the two-day convention of the OAB here.

Others elected to office for the next year included: O. T. Dresbach, vice president of WPFB, Middletown, as first vice presidnet of OAB: Paul E. Gilmore, president-manager of WHBC, Canton, second vice president.

Two television representatives were elected to the board of directors for four-year-terms. They were: Robert D. Gordon, vice president-general manager, WCPO-TV, Cincinatti, and Richard E. Reed, vice president-general manager, WLW-C Columbus.

New officers and directors assume office Jan. 1.
