The Portsmouth Times, an Administration paper, has the following complimentary notice of the Republican candidate for member of the Board of Public Works:
"Our friend and neighbor, John B. Gregory, received the nomination on the third ballot: We are glad of it, and if so it must be--which Heaven avert--that the Sham Republicans again succeed this fall, we should rather see him in that responsible place than any other man--honest and upright, and withal, has the requisite capacity and training. We feel a little pride, too, in that Scioto county gets the man. Southern Ohio is looking up!"
