Joesph E. Cross, formely of Portsmouth and West Union, clerk of the Ohio Senate, today filed as a candidate for the Republican nomination for secretary of state. Signers of his petition include Russel K. McCurdy, chairman of the Scioto County Republican committee; Osborne Mitchell, attorney and president of the Union Club of Youngstown, and Columbus persons.
