Roy E. Vastine, 30-year-old clerk of the Scioto county board of commissioners, is the new Scioto county auditor today.
Vastine, a news staff member of radio station WPAY succeeded Carl R. Smith who died Thursday after 20 years in the $6637 post. Vastine is a Democrat, while Smith was a Republican.
