Cox Promoted to Major

Edward G. Cox Jr. has been promoted to major while serving in the military in Kuwait. He has been in the Army since 1984. He went in the ROTC in his sophomore year at Marshall College. He served in Kuwait during the Desert Storm and he has been in Kuwait since February. He is with the 321st OD BN Camp Arijan.

Major Cox is a son of Ed and Rosie Cox of Minford. He is a 1982 graduate of Minford High School. He and his wife the former Linda Adkins of Logan, W. Va., have twin daughters, 7, and one son Zachary, 2. The reside in Logan, W. Va.

Major Ed Cox Jr., a 1982 graduate from Minford High School, has returned from duty in Kuwait after a 16-month stay.  He returned  April 19 to Charleston W. Va.,   (Crosslanes) Army.  Cox has been  in the Army sinch 1984;  this makes his second tour of duty.  The first was in Operation Desort Storm.

Cox is married to the former Linda Adkins of Logan, W. Va., where they reside.  They have three children.  Cox is a son of a Minford couple, Ed and Rosie Cox, and has a sister, Christine Phipps of Wheelersburg.

This is Edward Cox's third tour of duty in Iraq.

Army Reserve Major Edward G. Cox Jr.,has been deployed overseas to a
forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.His job in
operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to the military
operation involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalitions
forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq.
Cox , a material officer with 20 years of Military service is normally
assigned to 332`nd Ordnance,Battalion,Kenova,W.VA.
He is a Minford Graducate of 1982 andis the son of Ed and Rosie Cox .
