Cpl. Lloyd O. Cooper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Cooper of Sciotoville, paid the supreme sacrifice on Iwo Jima February 19.  He was born June 26, 1921 at Thor in Lewis County.

Louise Cooper, special photographer third class, and Charlotte Cooper, seaman first class, were home on seven-day leaves after the parents received the war department message about the death of the son and brother.  Louise is at the navy barracks at Dahlgren, Va, and Charlotte is based at the motion picture production office, Brooklyn.  Another brother, Donald Cooper, is a paratrooper and had a furlough home at the same time as his sisters.
