______________

LT. Warren, Pvt. Lowe War Casualties

Two more names were added to Scioto Co's WW II casualty list today with official announcement from the war department of the deaths of Lt. Lewis Warren, 22, and Pvt. Ceaph Lowe, 34.

Second Lt. Warren was killed June 7, in an airplane at his base at Natal, Brazil.  His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Warren of Sciotoville Rt. 2.

Pvt. Lowe, stationed in England, was reported killed in action May 30.  He was the husband of Mrs. Dora Lowe, 5328 Coolidge Ave., Sciotoville, and a son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lowe of Sciotoville.

Lt. Warren, a pilot in the ferrying command, was a guest of his parents for five days four weeks ago when he was returning to Natal from a flight to England.  He made many trans-Atlantic trips, stopping in England, Italy, India, North Africa, Scotland and Ireland.

Lt. Warren enlisted four years ago shortly after his graduation from Minford High School.  He received his basic training at Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill., and after taking a course in mechanical aviation was sent to Panama for a year.  He was transferred back to the States from Panama for pilot training in Texas.  After receiving his wings a year and a half ago at Ellington Field, Tex., he was sent to Natal.

The aviator was born May 25, 1922, at Minford.

Surviving besides his parents are five sisters, Rita, at home, Mrs. Aletha Workman of West Portsmouth, Mrs. Oscar Pigg of Lucasville, Mrs. Fayida Shoemaker of Minford and Mrs. Carol Howerton of Portsmouth, Va., and a brother, Curtis, at home.

It is presumed that Pvt. Lowe was killed in action over France or Germany.
