Pfc. George Coriell, 26, husband of Mrs. Ruth Coriell of Sciotoville Rt. 2 and father of four children was wounded in action on Io Jima on the fourth day after the invasion of the island started.  He is a marine.

According to word received by his wife, Pfc. Coriell now is in a hospital in the Marianas Islands.

He has been in the marine corps a year and went overseas last October.  He received his basic training at Parris Island, S.C.
