Staff Sgt. Leonard Thompson was wounded in a raid over Germany, December 24, 1944, according to word received this week by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Thompson, of Bonser Run.  Sgt. Thompson was serving as a gunner on a B-17.  He has been overseas since July, 1944.  Sgt. Thompson entered the service in September, 1943, and received training at Amarillo, Tex, Kingman, Ariz. and Pyote, Tex.

He was a senior at Minford High School before entering the army.
