We are the Champions...
Minford Band has come a long way these last couple of years. From standing on the field playing "Tequila" to marching to great field shows, "Jurassic Park" in 1999 and "The Phantom of the Opera" in 2000. The hard work finally paid off at the last competition at Green High School. After a two and a half hour delay for lightning, the band marched their best show ever in Minford's history. Placing first in class in band and percussion and third place in guard. In overall scoring, the band received Reserve Grand Champion. To top it all off, they also received a superior rating (a rating of 1) to advance on to OMEA State Finals for the first time in Minford Band history. The picture below is of the band at Green's award ceremony. They rushed the field as the announcements were made that the band had received a superior rating and Reserve Grand Champion.
