Minford Schools are touching base with a number of issues revolving around education improvement.  Regarding the recruitment and preparation of good teachers, Gov. Bob Taft has appointed Minford Superintendent Dennis Meade, to the Governor's Commission on Teaching Success.

Meade will be part of a commission that will work on recommendations concerning training and retaining successful teachers.

Other issues at home involve plans for the district.  Ideas have been generated through Plan and through discussions with community members on what the Minford School District needs to be successful in providing the best educational opportunities.

Looking to the future, some possible goals include:  adding distance learning; additional faculty and classified staff to provide additional programs; increasing lifelong learning opportunities for all ages; developing home school linkages including greater computer interaction; upgrading sports and other outdoor facilities including a new football stadium to go with the new lighting broadcasting and communication; providing for community programs and government/social agencies to be closer to the community residents and working with advanced placement classes/university courses for our students and residents.

Community input is invited.  Residents can contact the superintendent at 820-3896 or by mail to P.O. Box 204, Minford, OH 45653
