Minford captures Division III Sectional Title

Down by one, entering the fourth quarter, Minford turned up the pressure on New Lexington and won a sectional championship Thursday night.
Katie Donahoe and Kara Cayton each scored 15 points for the Lady Falcons, with Donahoe adding six rebounds and Cayton five assists. Kristen Martin, Brittany Brigner and Jordan Roberts combined for 18 rebounds.
“ New Lexington is one of those teams that can come up and scare you,” said Minford coach Kim Conley. “They were 0-20 coming into the tournament, but they didn’t play like it. In the end, though, I believe we just wore them out.”
