Minford Invitational


The Wheelersburg track teams got off to a solid start as both the Pirates' boys and girls teams claimed the top spots at the Minford Invitational. The Pirates came away with a team score of 228, bettering second place South Webster by 101 points. The Lady Pirates placed first with 175 points. Minford came in second with 122 points.

The Pirates' victory was fueled by placing four runners in the 110-meter hurdles, the top three in the 200-meter dash and winning three of four field events. The Jeeps finished second on the heels of victories in the 3200-meter relays and wins in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs by Josh Linkous and 300-meter hurdles by Andy Fenton. Fenton also won the high jump with a hight of 6-2.

In the girls' events, even though Minford finished in first place in eight events, the Lady Pirates took enough spots behind the Lady Faclons to amass enough points for the victory. Wheelersburg wib tge 110-meter hurdles and discus. Amber Bussa rean a 17.4 in the 110-meter hurdles.
