GOAL: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to read 10 pages each day, and keep a log on what they have read with a summary after each reading session. For the 4th and 5th grade students get 100 AR points per class for the week. If these goals are met then Mr. Lloyd and Mr. Warnock will catch a greased pig on Monday May 14.

you can wear during reading week.
Monday: Hats - read newspapers
Tuesday: Sunglasses - read non-fiction
Wednesday: Hiking boots - read
magazines
Thursday: Carry a flashlight
- read poetry
Friday: Khakis (jungle clothes)
- read fiction
Each class will be a tribe, create a name and a flag for the tribe. The tribes can challenge each other for "immunity" from homework, etc. Write someone a message in a bottle, listen to island music. You can watch Gillgan's Island. Eat gummy worms or dirt pudding. Decorate treasure chests or footprints in the sand with number of pages read. Set goals for students on how many pages to be read in a week, grade level survivors for the most read. SSR for 30 minutes every day. Treasure hunt, obstacle courses Graphing or mapping activities.
