2000 - 2001 First FFA Meeting
Vocational Agriculture III and IV were invited to attend the FFA's first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 13, 2000.  It was limited to juniors and seniors only.  Offices were filled for president, vice-president, sentinel, treasurer, secretary, historian, and reporter.  A Student Advisor will be appointed at a later time.  Names and pictures of the new officers and their duties are available on the FFA Officers and Duties page.  In other business we discussed next meeting dates and opened discussion of the yearly FFA wiener roast.
 
 
 

FFA and Class Dues
     Agriscience and Productional Agriculture students have dues they have to pay.  Students still have to pay to continue their FFA membership, New Horizon subscription, and participate in activites including FFA meetings.

Dues:

Vo-Ag Class            $ 6.00   (To be paid to the office.)

FFA Membership    $10.00   (To be paid to Mr. High.) 
 
 
 

Farm Science Review
     The FFA went on a field trip to the Farm Science Review in London, Ohio  (approximately 30 miles west southwest of Columbus)  on the 19th of September.  Thirty-Six Minford Students attended, leaving at 7:30 a.m. and returning at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Farm Science Review is held for three days, every year, on the 3rd Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of September at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center. 
     The Review showcases numerous exhibits from tractor, feed, and seed companies. Students may take tractor rides, see crop harvesting, plowing contests, and grain storage. 
     The day our FFA attended Governor Bob Taft and other politcal leaders were at the Gwynne Conservation Area for the opening of the new Environmental Interpretation Center.  Some others exhibits include crop harvesting, wetland preservation, tractor rides, eateries and many other agriculture realted exhibits.  The Farm Science Review is sponsered by the Ohio State University Agricultural Extension Office.
 
 
 

Ohio Power Show
     There will also be a trip to the Ohio Power Show.  This venue is held in Columbus at the beginning ot the year. The exact dates for this trip will be determined at a later date.
