WWII Memorial Tom Hank's Script |
![]() |
During World War II, Americans everywhere left their farms and
factories, their offices and classrooms. 16 million Americans served in
uniform. 400,000 gave their lives for freedom. For the first time,
young women eagerly entered the work force, to supply the arsenal the
world depended on for victory. But this was no faceless mass that went
to war. They were my relatives and yours. Our fathers and mothers, our
grandfathers and next-door neighbors. They were our families' heroes.
Yet unbelievably, there's no national memorial to honor the amazing
generation that won World War II.
Please, help build the National World War II Memorial, on the Mall in Washington, D.C by donating to WWII Memorial Fund. It's time to say thank you.For more information, e-mail lhaney@minford.k12.oh.us or contact a student.
