Welcome to the 2000 Minford Marching Band Website! Congratulations for a great year! Minford Band reached OMEA State Finals for the FIRST time in Minford History! The Minford Falcons are back for their 2nd year of competition style field shows with an explosion of power, moving music, and discipline from the Broadway musical, "The Phantom of the Opera." You will be moved by the powerful opener "The Phantom of the Opera." It's the overture from the musical. The low brass opens with mysterious under chords that evolve into the overwhelming trumpet entrance that keeps you through allegro paradise until the end of the movement. With soloist Mary Lambert on trumpet, "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" serenades you with a melody of trumpets and woodwinds counter parting until the stand still at the end. The color guard is in the spotlight with their grace and beautiful choreography with a solo by Erica Lambert ending this ballad. "Masquerade!" Our third piece starts with the majestic trumpet duet (Grace Peach and Erik Noel) singing right until the breakthrough of the powerful, ballroom upbeat. Chromatic scales are featured in the woodwinds sections that are played at alarming paces and marching is quick and precise throughout the entire piece. The finale, "Music of the Night" is what this musical is truly known for. The true talents of Andrew Lloyd Webber (as well as the band) are shown in this arrangement and presented spectacularly with strength and a singing trumpet. Grace Peach performs the trumpet solo exceptionally well in this touching closer to "The Phantom of the Opera."
