Building Update

HIGH SCHOOL

The High School now has all of the heating and cooling units that kept us from placing a roof on the building.  The parts have been lowered through the roof opening and we can now place decking and roof materials to enclose the building.  Temporary heat is being set up so that our craftsmen can begin the interior work.

Our color selection revolves around school colors.  The gym should have school color mats with a falcon and the floor will have falcons painted on both sides.  Physical education locker rooms and team rooms will have red lockers.  The team rooms should have larger lockers to help contain uniforms, etc.

We will have an equipped stage in the Auditeria, but this area will be too small for larger audiences so I have requested that the Ohio School Facilities Commission allow us to equip a stage in the gym.  We have designed an area at the East end of the gym that could house a stage so with available project funds, we could develop a stage for having several of our larger audience productions there such as graduation, elementary musicals, high school productions, homecoming, etc.

We are still looking at an August opening at this time.

MIDDLE/PRIMARY SCHOOL

The design development phase is being completed and early work to route temporary computer lines, etc. will take place this summer.

Minford School District has been approved for additional funds to help pay for the deep foundations and to provide for inflationary costs. The Controlling Board approved on July 26, 1999 the following funds:
Foundations - $2,909,812
Inflation - $937,380
Total - $3,847,192

The new total project budget is now $34,742,192.
