Building Update
from
Dr. Meade

November 2, 2000

Parking lots and roads are in the process of receiving the base coat of asphalt.  Top soil has been spread and initial plantings of trees and bushes has started.

Bleachers have been installed in the gym and other gym equipment is being placed.  The drainage area in front of the building near Bond Road has been successfully converted into a three-acre practice field which will be available for physical education, band, and sports use.  The cost of conversion has been paid through District permanent improvement funds.

Tennis courts are being prepared in the parking lot area.  Cost of the courts cannot be paid through construction project funds.  Donations are being accepted to cover this cost.

Partial acceptance of the building is expected to occur near the end of November with the Central Office and other administrative offices being relocated to keep operations going on a continuous basis.  Loose equipment is expected to be installed by December 8.

The physical move to the new high school is expected to take place in December with students returning on January 3, 2001 to the new facility.  Persons wishing to volunteer to help in the moving should contact High School Principal, Robert Shaffer at
